Plant Biotechnology

Exploration of the features, causes and mechanisms of structural and functional variability of the genome in cellular populations in vitro and in nature, as well as finding ways to regulate this variability in order to develop molecular genetic and physiological and biochemical foundations of plant biotechnology. Development of new high-yield plant crops for plant tissues for medicine, agriculture, cosmetic and nutritional purposes. Research of the plant cell and tissue culture for secondary metabolite production can be highly applied in comparison to harvesting secondary metabolites directly from slow growing, difficult to propagate, rear and endangered plants and also in cases when access to the regions of natural plant habitats is restricted, offering convenient, safe and profitable way of producing certain plant components.
